The Eight Mansions Formula is a personalized formula that categorizes people into either
the East or West Group and also divides houses as being either East or West buildings. This formula also reveals your lucky and unlucky directions based on your “Kua” number. Once you have your kua number, you will know if you are a west or east group person.

EAST Group people have the Kua numbers 1,3,4 and 9 – your auspicious directions are E, SE, N and S. Your inauspicious directions are W, NW, NE and SW.

WEST Group people have the Kua numbers 2,5,6,7,8 – your auspicious directions are SW, NW, W, and NE. Your inauspicious directions are N, S, E and SE.

Sit facing your best direction

Apply the 8-mansion formula by making sure that you do not occupy a room that corresponds to any of your bad luck directions. Instead, incorporate this formula into your life by using your most auspicious directions for working, sleeping, etc.

The four types of bad fortune luck are:

Ho Hai - Experiencing bad luck
Wu Kwei (Five Ghosts) – five kinds of bad people working against you
Lui Shar ( Six Killings) – experiencing 6 types of misfortune
Cheuh Ming – Experiencing total loss.

The four types of good fortune luck are:

Sleep with head facing your good luck direction

Sheng Chi – wealth and success
Nien Yen - love and marriage
Tien Yi: Health and longevity
Fu Wei – Personal Growth and development

So, for example, you can use the 8 Mansions Formula to determine if your bedroom or office has good or bad luck for you, whether the front door has the kind of luck you are after, what is the best direction for you to sleep and so on.
