Protect Your Home Using Symbols of Protection

There are various feng shui methods to protect your home and office against misfortune. Bad and unlucky chi can be caused by poison arrows from surrounding homes and buildings or simply changes due to flying stars.  It may also be due to the domination of yin and imbalance between yin and yang forces. Thus, it is always wise to take the necessary steps to protect your home.  One such way to do this is by using the Four Celestial Guardians.

The Four Celestial Guardians

Many of you are already familiar with the Green Dragon, Crimson Phoenix, Black Tortoise and White Tiger.  These are the four celestial guardians in the outside environment, the protective hills and mountains and shapes that surround our home or office building. 

According to feng shui, these celestial creatures symbolically protect the home or building that they surround. If your home enjoys such protection, it is considered blessed with good fortune.  In today’s modern living situations, it is not easy to locate the physical manifestations of these celestial creatures, especially if we live in a city environment.  Instead, we must simulate their presence by placing symbols of them in the appropriate areas around our home.

The Dragon should be placed on the left side of the house (on the left side when you are looking out of house), the Tiger on the right, the Tortoise at the back and the Phoenix in the front.  Doing this offers you and your family members protection from bad feng shui.
