Attention should always be given to the feng shui of the bedroom, especially the
master bedroom. After all, much of our lifetime is spent in the bedroom even though we may be asleep a good deal of the time! Since the general feng shui luck of the parents of the household – the luck of the patriarch and matriarch affect the entire well-being of the family and its finances, the bedroom feng shui must not be taken for granted. Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:Balance of Yin and Yang with Emphasis on Yin Energy: While the balance of yin and yang energy is always the key in feng shui, it is YIN energy that should prevail in the bedroom. This is a place of rest and relaxation so calmness and quiet is what we seek to achieve. Colors should be cooler in nature and more subdued rather than bright yellow for example. This is not a gym so remove any exercise equipment. It’s not an office either, so your desk, printer and computer equipment should be located elsewhere in the home. Do not place or hang any plants in the bedroom, no matter how beautiful, as they are too “yang” in nature. Likewise, there should be no water elements here - no aquariums, fountains or even a painting that depicts water as this may cause financial loss.
Bad mirror feng shui |
Use of Mirrors: Mirrors in the bedroom are a big feng shui taboo. Mirrors that reflect the bed or are located behind or in front of the bid may invite a third party into the marriage and destroy the relationship of the occupants. Mirrors are acceptable if they are on a closet in a different direction that does not reflect the bed in any way. Note that a television screen is considered a mirror as is a computer screen.
Placement of the Bed: The best placement for the bed is diagonally opposite the door and tapping your best direction. If you do not know your best directions go to www.wofs.com to find your kua number and from there, your best sleeping direction. Be sure that the bed or headboard of the bed is placed against a wall or solid backing, it should never be “floating” in the room and your head must not be against the wall of an adjoining toilet. Try to place the bed so that it is not under any overhead beams (this causes heavy burdens and migraines) and be sure it does not face any protruding corners (poison arrows) or any other bedroom doors. Beds that are under beams that cut across the bed may mean the dissolution of a marriage or serious illness – move the bed or create a false ceiling to cover the beams.
Location of the Bedroom: It is unfavorable for the bedroom to be directly above or below the kitchen, the garage or a toilet as these create the bad luck of emptiness and substance. If your bedroom is located under a bathroom on the floor above, make sure that the bed is not directly under the toilet. This is like having dirty water above your head and leads to financial loss.
