Harness the Power of Water Energy

Water has both good and bad qualities. It can bring you immense good fortune or
alternatively cause great misfortune.

Think about its nature. It can flow slowly in a river and over time, erode stones and very large boulders that stand in its way. It has an almost gentle persistence, an invisible strength as it winds its way around obstacles, always finding the path of least resistance. On the other hand, consider its extreme power - the massive floods and tsunamis that destroy everything in their path as they race out of control. Thus, water as one of the five elements is said to be an extreme element – one that represents danger, yet at the same time, enormous prosperity if treated properly and with respect.

Since water energy flows downward, when it overflows it brings destruction and loss. It is believed that the sheng chi that brings good fortune your way is stopped when confronted with water. Water above a mountain or in high places is one of the four danger signs of the I Ching. This is why rooftop swimming pools and blue roof tiles are always considered bad feng shui and not recommended. However, when energized correctly and kept in balance and proper alignment with the other energies, water can make you rich beyond your wildest dreams.

If you are looking to enhance your fortune, wear water colours like blue or black; drink lots of water daily and try to live near a lake or river. Inside the home, place a water feature like a fountain in the north, east or southeast (but do not place in the south or northwest.) Create a wealth ship and place it in the office foyer or at home so it is sailing in from your sheng chi direction loaded with gold ingots and currency from the countries that you currently do business with (or are trying to establish business with.) Be sure that it is sailing in and not out -you don’t want to lose money. Sailing ships are considered very auspicious symbols of “wind and water”, so why have only one? You can easily create an entire harbour of ships, with each one representing a different source of wealth income. If people accuse you of being greedy, so what?

If you are born with water as the dominant element in your birth chart, you are usually an excellent communicator and extremely persuasive. You can wear down even the strongest opponent with your persistent and tenacious manner, just as water can wear down a large boulder over time. Your way is the way of water – to infiltrate rather than dominate; you cool any hostile or aggressive behaviour towards you with your softness.
