The Trinity of Luck

There are a lot of misconceptions about feng shui.  First of all, it is not a practice that
suddenly creates a miracle bringing overnight success and instant wealth.  Rather feng shui works according to the quality of the energies surrounding your home and workspace.  When done properly, it can create favorable energy around your home so that when bad luck strikes the loss and ill fortune are reduced and easier to handle.  And if you are going through a time of prosperity, good feng shui will enhance your luck and wealth significantly.

This is based on the philosophy of Tien, Ti and Ren, the Chinese words that mean heaven, earth and mankind.  This is called the trinity of luck. Let me explain further.

Heaven luck is what we are born with.  Divine help from heaven is not within our control – things like the circumstances of our birth and the good and bad periods of our lives are things we cannot choose.

Earth luck, on the other hand is within our control.  This is the luck that comes from the environment and it becomes stronger when the feng shui of your surroundings is done properly.  If you actively create good feng shui energy in your home and office, you are taking action to improve your own luck.  Feng shui luck brings better opportunities and improves your chances for success while enhancing living conditions and creating good relationships.

Mankind Luck is also within our control.  It is the luck we create for ourselves.  Yes, the good feng shui you create will bring opportunities for increased wealth and higher position, but if you do nothing and do not work to take advantage of these opportunities with a positive attitude and hard work, your good feng shui gets wasted.  Mankind luck is important – it’s the taking action luck of success.

Thus, feng shui is based on the philosophy of the three aspects of luck in our lives that affect all of us: Tien or heaven luck that we are born with, Ti, the earth luck created by our surroundings and Ren the mankind luck that we create for ourselves. While we cannot change our heaven luck, we can greatly increase our good fortune and happiness through the application of good feng shui and taking action on the opportunities that come our way.  This is why you find many successful people that were born into poverty and inauspicious conditions rise to the top using their earth and mankind luck.
