Love & the Lucky Number 8

We all know how lucky the number 8 is and here are eight tips for your bedroom feng shui.
  The bedroom needs to be right for successful relationships and to let your love life flow happily, so don’t miss any of these recommendations!

 Eight Tips for Great Bedroom Feng Shui

1. Sleep in your nien yen direction. Using the Eight Mansions formula, you can determine your personal relationship and love corner according to your date of birth and gender. Just go to wofs.com to calculate your KUA number and discover your personal nien yen lucky direction.  Be sure to sleep with your head pointed towards your nien yen direction.  Try to make sure that the toilet, kitchen or storeroom are not located in your love direction as these will press down on your romance luck.


2. Place the bed diagonally opposite the door. This is the best location and hopefully it will correspond to your personalized good direction and the headboard should rest against the wall.  It is also important that the entrance to the room is visible from the bed. You do not want to create fast moving energy (shar chi) coming towards your bed – this is usually caused when your bed is placed directly in front of the door. And for goodness sakes, don’t sleep with your head or feet pointed towards the door. This is akin to the death position and considered extremely inauspicious.

3. Avoid two mattresses on a double bed. A couple should never sleep on two separate mattresses placed on a double, king or queen bedframe. This creates separation chi and can lead to serious separation/divorce issues.  Avoid this even if the two mattresses are well hidden by a mattress cover or bedspread.  By hiding the split, the rift of unhappiness between two people can become even deeper!

4. Hang a picture of a pair of mandarin ducks or doves in your bedroom. For years Chinese artists have painted beautiful birds that signify the love between married couples and lovers.  When you hang in your bedroom, it signifies the happiness of two people that have found each other.  You can also place a pair of ducks made from semi-precious stones or from rose quartz or other beautiful earth material in the southwest corner of your bedroom.  Place them at coffee-table height and never display just one single duck (this represents a duck without its mate).  Don’t show 3 ducks either (your marriage will be crowded) – so always display the ducks in pairs only.


5. Remove or cover up all mirrors facing the bed (a computer screen is also considered a mirror). Mirrors that face the bed cause marriages to get “crowded” and generally encourage infidelity. The larger the mirror, the more harmful it can be. It’s best just to remove all mirrors from your bedroom.



6. An Absolute NO NO!

   No water features or aquariums in the bedroom. The wrong placement of water can lead to relationship problems. Don’t introduce a water feature into your sleeping area as this brings the chi of loss.  Additionally, do not hang pictures of landscapes with waterfalls or paintings of rivers and lakes here – display them elsewhere in your home.


7. Don’t sleep under overhead beams that are exposed. These beams send out poisonous, heavy chi that can cause headaches and really stress you out mentally. The result may even be breakups in a relationship and/or marriage.  If the beam cuts the bed in half, it may drive a wedge between you and your partner.  Neutralize such effects by covering the beams with a false ceiling or cover them somehow. If you cannot, then hang bamboo sticks to help get rid of the bad energy.


8. No televisions and/or computers in the bedroom. Keep work out of the bedroom and televisions as well. Bedrooms should be more “yin” than “yang”, so keep the energies here quiet, calm and conducive to love and understanding.
