The hidden meanings of the eight-sided Pa Kua symbol are important to the success of your
feng shui practice. The Pa Kua is empowered by its trigrams on each of the eight sides, the three lined symbols (unbroken and broken lines) that signify the aspirations of mankind. There are two arrangements, known as the early heaven and later heaven arrangements and the Eight Aspirations method that we use is based on the later heaven arrangements of the trigram.
The corner or location that you choose to activate depends on the luck you desire…and don’t worry you are not limited to one direction and can activate all eight sectors of your home or of specific rooms if you wish. Be sure to use a proper compass to identify the direction of each sector correctly.
Today we examine the east side of the trigram which is called CHEN and is of the wood element. It represents the eldest son and it is the sector of health and wealth. This sector has the most “sheng chi” or growth chi so it is ideal to study and learn how to gain maximum benefit from activation. Here are some suggestions for your EAST sector.
1. Since the East is the place of the celestial dragon, always activate with dragon image. Use as many dragons as you wish to maximize luck for your family but don’t overdo it as not everyone can manage the yang energy of these creatures – don’t be greedy.
2. Be sure to place your dragon image near or inside water. If you can find a dragon holding a rotating pearl or spewing water, even better.
Plants are excellent in the east |
5. Since this is a wood sector, it is not a good idea to have too many lights or candles here as they exhaust the chi of this sector. Water, on the other hand, is excellent as it supports the element wood, so water features such as fishbowls, aquariums and small fountains are fine in the east.
6. If you hold a high position as president or CFO of a company, or you were born in the year of the dragon, you may place as many as five dragons in your east sector – be sure they are near or inside water.
Good luck and good health!
Lillian
