Watch Your Windows

Image:
You may not have investigated the feng shui of the windows in your home yet, but this is
worth taking a look at.

First of all, the ratio of the windows to doors should not exceed three to one. If you have too many windows, the chi will not have a chance to settle. Rooms should have at least one solid wall and this should be directly opposite the door – i.e. windows should not be placed on walls directly facing the door, especially the main door, and are better located on either side of the entrance door. If your windows do go against this guideline, then once the chi enters it could fly out the window quickly and when this happens you will find it difficult to keep and save money.

More Window Guidelines

  • Semicircle:  Windows that have a semi-circle above them are okay as long as the design does not include any downward pointing arrows in the grill design.
  • Windows that open out are better than windows that open up and down.
  • If the window faces the edge of a building or another type of poison arrow, it can cause sleeping problems or other issues.  The best way to deal with this is to block off the harmful view with heavy curtains.
  • Image:

    block yang energy
  • Don’t let trees grow too close to the window – especially if the window is on the west side of the home.  Trees that are too close block needed yang energy in the home and if this is the location of your child’s bedroom his or her feng shui will be blocked.  Trim the trees or thin them out.
  • If your entire west wall is blocked by many trees or vines the energy will be weak, strangled by the plants and vines. West is an important direction for the achievements of your children so you must control the outside growth here. Even if the bedrooms are not located on the west side, be sure this area is not “suffocated” with too many trees and plants.
