I'm thinking today of all those whose lives and families are in the grip of addiction and
also those amazingly blessed ones on a path of recovery.
I'm here in Costa Rica with a group of 65 people in recovery from addiction. Our Thanksgiving will be filled with morning practice- meditation, chanting, prayer and yoga. We will also have a Universal 12-Step meeting (my favorite kind) and when we finish it will just be 8am.
From the viewpoint of Recovery 2.0, every day is Thanksgiving day. And it is also true that when the whole country gets together to celebrate the blessings of life it is very powerful.
Here is my prayer on this Thanksgiving Day:
May we recognize that the challenges we've been through are gifts nudging us along our unique spiritual path.
May our gratitude for this life spill out from our hearts and inspire all those we come into contact with.
May we be free from addiction in our minds and bodies and be endowed with the power to serve and heal others.
May we recognize that the challenges we've been through are gifts nudging us along our unique spiritual path.
May our gratitude for this life spill out from our hearts and inspire all those we come into contact with.
May we be free from addiction in our minds and bodies and be endowed with the power to serve and heal others.
Blessings, Love and Gratitude to all,
