Paint the Dragon, Dot the Eyes

According to Taoist feng shui, there is vital energy in every celestial creature, and their
spirits are “awakened” by dotting their eyes. Once this is done, they become even more powerful! In ancient times dragons were often depicted without adding the pupils or dotting the eyes for fear they would fly away. This “finishing touch” was always added later.

The ritual of “dotting the eye of the dragon” can be done in a simple ceremony using dragon paintings and/or images placed inside your office and home. When the dragon images are energized in this manner, they bring prosperity, protection and happy occasions such as marriages or births.

To dot the eye of the dragon, all you need is a black brush and black Chinese ink. You can make the ritual as simple or as elaborate as you like. The only requirement is that there be plenty of yang energy when this activity is taking place. Play some loud music with clashing symbols and drums and be sure to have bright lights shining on the dragon.

It’s best to dot the eyes of the dragon during the dragon hour in the morning between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Dragons are happiest and will activate lucky outcomes for you and those around you when they are placed near water or an image of water.
