The 12 animal signs are very revealing and tell us a lot about our own destiny, our own kind
of luck, what’s good and not good for us, our personality, who we get along with (and who we don’t) and who we can make good business and all kinds of relationships between the 12 animal signs. Each animal sign has a combination of elements as well which come into play along with the yin and yang aspect of these elements.
The first thing to determine is the direction of your particular animal sign on the compass or refer to the diagram below. Once you have this, then be sure to take care of that sector. If you have three people living in your home, make sure all sectors are properly energized and activated.
Now all of the 12 animal signs have special relationships with the other signs – some are good, some not so good. First, let’s talk about your allies and your secret friend. There are 4 sets of allies in feng shui astrology and each set is comprised of 3 animal signs. The cool thing is that if you are not going through a good year, you can borrow from the luck of your allies (or your secret friend). Everyone has 2 allies and one secret friend. Here are the groupings so you can see which affinity triangle you belong to:
1. Monkey, Dragon, Rat – The Competitors. These three signs are very competitive and ambitious and tend to be impulsive. They are quick and mentally agile and very much go-getters. While the monkey is very strategic and clever, the dragon is the most ambitious and the rat of course is charming!
2. Rooster, Snake, Ox – The Intellectuals. These three are great planners and managers, confident and hard-working. While the ox is physically hardworking, the snake is very much of a thinking person. The rooster is a combination of the two.
3. Horse, Tiger, Dog – The Adventurers. These are the free-spirited signs of the zodiac who don’t like to be restrained and love to go off on an adventure. They are intensely loyal to each other and while the tiger is the most ferocious, the dog is most loyal and the horse most dependable. These three are very close to each other.
4. Sheep, Rabbit, Boar – The Diplomats. These three are the diplomats – always nice, sweet and calm. They don’t fight and they are usually soft-spoken – good at public relations. They pull people together and maintain calm in the midst of a storm of words or actions.

What does this all mean in feng shui terms? It is really good to place a beautiful image of your sign in the direction that belongs to you. So, if you were born in the year of the horse, put a horse in the south. If you are secret friend of the horse, for example you are a sheep, you also put a horse in the south. It’s very good to activate and energize your secret friend and allies so that your relationships work and remain strong. You can also wear jewelry charms or scarves and other accessories to activate the luck of your secret friend and allies.
